Mary Ann Burns

Mary Ann Lacefield Burns, 73, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Mrs. Burns was born January 31, 1943 in Owensboro to the late Samuel Lacefield and Sue Ella Gregson. Mary Ann's greatest love was her family. She adored her children, grandchildren and great grandson; thoroughly enjoyed cooking for them all (she was a great cook!) and getting together for holidays, especially Christmas. She never missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune, was an avid UK basketball fan, loved shopping and flowers, especially roses.

Mrs. Burns was preceded in death by her former husband, James O. Burns, in 2006; a son, James Randall Burns in 2015.

Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Minton, Pamela Morris and Charlotte Statts all of Owensboro; grandchildren, Nicholas Burns, Tessela Willett, Jessica Statts, Seth Burns, Sierra Burns and Hannah Statts; great grandson, Atticus Willett; sisters, Peggy Whitaker and Brenda Burns; brother, Michael Lacefield and wife Angel; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and good friends.

The service will be 12 noon Tuesday, November 1 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Jody Lacefield officiating. Burial will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 to 7:00 and Tuesday from 10:00 AM.
