Mary Ruth Clark Bumm

Mary Ruth Clark Bumm 79, of Owensboro died at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 16th, 2013. She was born September 3, 1933.

A devoted wife and mother, Mary Ruth was fun-loving, stylish and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. An avid reader, who also enjoyed being outside in her flowerbed, sunning or playing tennis, she loved traveling, playing bridge and games, as well as music and dancing. She was active in Immaculate Parish and Homespun Homemakers.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Martin L. Bumm Sr.; three sons, Martin Bumm Jr. (Janice) of Owensboro, Barry Bumm (Becca) of Franklin, TN; Eric Bumm (Jessica) of Nicholasville; three daughters, Becky McLevaine (Dennis) of Birmingham, AL, Katherine Flynn (Mike) of Phoenix, AZ and Tonya Parsons (Rick) of Lexington; ten grandchildren, Jason McLevaine, Stephanie Bumm Hardesty, David Bumm, Ryan Bumm, Alex Bumm, Daniel Bumm, Abby Bumm, Allison Bumm, Shaun Flynn, Sophia Bumm; two great-grandchildren, Landon and Garrett McLevaine; brothers, Hank (Kelly) Clark, Kenneth (Donna) Clark, Richard (Joyce) Clark and Mark (Tommie) Clark; sisters, Lois Brackin, Joyce (Carroll) Ferguson, and Betty (Bob) Kooris; a sister-in-law, Hallie Clark; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Guy Clark; her mother, Mary Pearl Blandford; and two brothers, Don and Thomas Clark.

Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 18th at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Catholic Church with Father Tony Jones officiating followed by entombment in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where prayers will be said at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The family would like to thank the Hospice Palliative Care team for their wonderful support, and expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky or to the Immaculate Parish.

We would also like to thank caregivers Lisa, Karen, Ashley, Pat, Jennifer and Lynette for their tireless devotion and love.
