Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Brown

Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Brown, 93, of Owensboro, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the Owensboro Center. She was born April 11, 1923 in Daviess Co. to the late Forrest A. and Ida Mae O'Brien Roby. Liz was a homemaker and member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church. She loved spending time with her family, loved all animals, especially her cats, and enjoyed playing bridge. Liz was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She had many friends and was liked by everyone that met her. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Anthony A. "Tony" Brown, Jr. on December 30, 2013, a son, Jeffrey Scott Brown in 1988, and 11 brothers and sisters.

Surviving are two daughters, Bettie Gray and husband Tony of Owensboro and Doris Turner of Louisville, two sons, Anthony A. "Tony" Brown III and wife Judi of Owensboro and Randy M. Brown of Owensboro, four grandchildren, Kimberly Dawn Aulick and husband Rodney of Louisville, April Nicole Hopkins of Owensboro, Jason Eric Turner of Louisville, and Amber Michelle Wilson of Evansville, IN, five great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 7, at Blessed Mother Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Friday with prayers at 6 PM and from 10:00 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
