Mary Lois (Clark) Brackin, 76, of Owensboro went to be with the Lord at her home on November 1, 2014 surrounded by her children. She was born in Owensboro on February 6, 1938 to the late Joseph Clark and M. Pearl Clark Blandford. Lois was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes parish and a graduate of Owensboro Catholic High. She worked for many years at the Roosevelt house until her retirement. Lois enjoyed horses and horseback riding and surrounding herself with things that reminded her of the west. She was fond of dogs and gardening and most of all enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by a brother, James Donald Clark and a sister, Mary Ruth Bumm.
Lois is survived by her children, Jan Rene' (Craig) Ferdig of Bennett CO, Joseph Paul Brackin of Molalla, OR, Kellie Ann (Michael) Marhefka of Amarillo , TX, and Todd Andrew (Kristy) Brackin of Owensboro; grandchildren, Matthew Taylor Simmons, Samantha Nicole (Alexander) Hagan, Caleb Andrew Brackin, Hannah Elizabeth Brackin and Maggie Marie Marhefka; brothers, Joseph Henry Clark, Kenneth Anthony Clark, Richard Leo (Joyce) Clark, and Mark Earl (Tommie) Clark; and sisters Anna Joyce (Carroll) Ferguson and Betty Ann (Robert) Kooris.
A funeral mass will be held 11 am November 4, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 2 until 8pm Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and after 9 am Tuesday at the funeral home. Prayers will be 7pm Monday. Burial will take place at Mater Dolorosa Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky.
