Mary E. "Betty" Booker

Mary E. "Betty" Booker, 98, of Philpot, passed away January 14, 2018, at her home. Mary was born in Daviess County to the late Robert Joseph and Elizabeth Wink Bumm on February 17, 1919. Betty was a lifelong member of Saint Mary of The Woods Catholic Church and a member of The Legion of Mary. The parish picnic was always important to Betty as she was the head supervisor of the "Relish Department."

She is preceded in death by her husband Milburn Joseph Booker; sons Gene Booker and Leon Booker; brothers, Bob Bumm, Bill Bumm, Les Bumm and Nick Bumm; sister, Helen Bumm; and grandchildren, Michelle Booker and John Thomas Booker.

Survivors include her sons, Robert "Joe" Booker (Janis), Tony Booker (Lois), and Gerald Booker (Marie); daughters, Marie Bartlett (Michael) and Barbara Coomes (Roger); brother, Martin Bumm; sisters, Martha Payne, Dorothy Ward, and Martina Vecchio; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral Mass will be 10 am Friday, January 19, 2018, at Saint Mary of the Woods Catholic Church with Father Brian Roby officiating. Visitation will be from 2 until 6 pm Thursday, January 18, 2018, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with prayers at 5:30 pm. Burial will take place at Resurrection cemetery following Mass
