Mary Angeline Payne Baca, 75, of Utica, formerly of Pahrump, Nevada, went to be with her Lord, September 4, 2010 at the residence of her sister. Mrs. Baca was born in Daviess County to the late Edward Ivo and Mary Louis Mattingly Payne on May 27, 1935. She was a teacher in Kentucky, Nevada, and New Mexico and had earned her Masters Degree in education. Mrs. Baca was a member of New Hope Christian Fellowship and volunteered for the homeless and right-to-life. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Eloy G. Baca; son-in-law, Monty Zarogoza; nephew, Kevin Rhodes; and nieces, Lori Ann Boling and Lisa Diane Payne.
Survivors include her daughters, Edwina Rust and her husband Ken of Oakridge, TN, Lorraine McColllum of Lenoir City, TN; Alberta Bethel and her husband Mike of Farmington, NM, Helen Newhouse and her husband Dan of Los Alamo, NM and Judi Zarogoza of West Jordan, UT; brother, Gerald Payne and his wife Pat of Livermore; sisters, Ruby Ward, Elsie French and her husband Bill, Dorothy Rhodes all of Owensboro, Josephine Boling and her husband Marvin of Utica and Sr. Mary Gerald Payne of Maple Mount; 21 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday and after 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Daniel Pitino Shelter or Birthright of Owensboro.
