Mary Genrose Austin

Mary Meredith Austin, 85, of 2020 Graham Lane East, Owensboro, died Monday, December 27, 2004, at her residence. She was born January 16, 1919 to the late William and Elizabeth Hocker Mercer in Ohio County. Mary was a housewife, a charter member of Crabtree Avenue Baptist, now a member Eaton Memorial Baptist Church. She was a member of Senior Citizens of Owensboro, and a Golden Partner at Owensboro Medical Health System.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Clifton Render in 1960, Donald Lee Meredith in 1971, and Ancil C. Austin in 1989.

Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Petty of Owensboro; two grandchildren, Cheryl Lyons of Bowling Green, and Venita Guverra of McAllister, TX; three great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, at Glenn Funeral Home, with burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday and after 9:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.glennfuneralhome.com
