Mary Alice Atwell
February 26, 1923 — October 5, 2001
Mary Alice Atwell, 78, of 1312 W. First Street, Owensboro, died at her home Friday, October 5, 2001. The Owensboro native was a homemaker and member of First United Methodist Church in Lewisport. Her husband, Floyd Atwell, died in 1972 and a son, George H. Harvey, Jr. died in 1942.
Survivors include a stepson, Dudley Atwell of Lewisport; a stepdaughter, Marilyn Dukes of Owensboro; several step-grandchildren; two brothers, Henry E. Smith of Owensboro and John H. Smith of Kennett, Mo.; three sisters, Eleanor Mattingly and Hazel Vetter of Owensboro and Edith Havener of Lewisport.
Services are 2 P.M. Sunday, October 7, 2001 at the Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Fordsville Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-8 P.M. today and after noon Sunday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice Association.
