Mary E. Anderson

Mary E. Anderson, 91, of Owensboro, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born on November 25, 1922 in Daviess Co., KY to the late Lowell and Rickard Moore. She was a homemaker and had worked in the cafeterias of Foust and Lee Elementary Schools. She was of the Baptist faith, enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, watching soap operas on her big screen television, collecting figurines, and playing bingo. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh S. Anderson, Sr. in 1996 a son, Roger Dale Anderson in 1948 and a grandson Keith Anderson.

Surviving are a daughter, Pattie Tomes and husband Gordon of Owensboro, four sons, Hugh S. Anderson, Jr. and wife Susie of St. Joseph, Jesse L. Anderson of Philpot, Rocky A. Anderson and wife Judy of Calhoun, and Jerry L. Anderson of Beech Grove, 20 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 1, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Sorgho Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Friday and after 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
