Mary Ellen Ams

Mary Ellen Dutch Ams, 93, of Owensboro, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2006 at the Hermitage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born January 17, 1913, Miss Ams was the daughter of the late Gregory and Rose Lehigh Ams; a member of St. Stephen Cathedral; retired from SS Kresge Company where she worked for 50 years; a member of the Legion of Mary; and formerly on the Board of Directors of Brescia University and the Wendell Foster Center. She was preceded in death by sisters Emma Ruth Morrison and Thelma Gregory Ams.

She is survived by a nephew, Jim (and his wife Marsha) Morrison of Athens, GA; and great-nieces Lisa Morrison Tanner and Julie Morrison Coan of Atlanta, GA, Ellen Padgett of Seattle, WA and Ann Padgett Human of St. Louis, MO.

Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at St. Stephen Cathedral with burial in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8:30 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. on Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home.
