Mary Rebecca Payne Alsup

Mary Rebecca Payne Alsup, 68, of Owensboro passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Daviess County on November 24, 1943, she was the daughter of the late William N. and Dorothy Brown Payne; was a homemaker; and was a member of SS Joseph and Paul Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking, camping, crocheting and watching westerns. But most of all, she enjoyed caring for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


Surviving are her husband of 52 years, , Elmer "Bub" Lee Alsup; her children, Pam (Roger) Bishop of Owensboro, Sharon Alsup of Owensboro, Keith Alsup of Owensboro, Scott (Astrid) Alsup of Germany, Rosita (Bruce) Sheldon of Owensboro, Dennis (Jenni) Alsup of Owensboro, Gerard (Rachel) Alsup of Owensboro and Amber (Wayne) Williams of Owensboro; grandchildren, Shalen Alsup, Shannon Cook, Brian Keith Alsup, Brandon Alsup, Matt Troutman, Wesley Alsup, Paige (Brandon) Lanham, Christopher Crowe, Josh Bishop, Ashley Alsup, Lenzi Alsup, Daniel Alsup, Alexis Alsup, Ethan Crowe, Jake Alsup, Larissa Alsup, Zachary Crowe, Lily Williams, and Allyson Williams; great-grandchildren, Hailey Cook, Brooklyn Moore, Peyton Isbell, Aiden Stovall, and Paisley Lanham; a sister, Patricia Ann Logsdon of Glendale, AZ; special friends and neighbors, Diane and Tom Calcaterra of Owensboro; and her devoted poodle, Fifi.


Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at SS Joseph and Paul Catholic Church with Father Carl McCarthy officiating followed by burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday and after 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where prayers will be said at 5 p.m. on Tuesday evening.
