Marvin E. Settles

Marvin E. Settles, 83, of Owensboro died Thursday, June 9, 2016 at his home under the care of Hospice of W. Kentucky. Mr. Settles was born at home in Daviess County to the late Charles Joseph and Irene White Settles. He was of the Catholic faith and attended Blessed Mother Church. Marvin was a quiet man who kept to himself and spent his whole life farming and infrequently traveled outside of Kentucky. He loved UK basketball and St. Louis Cardinals baseball.

Mr. Settles was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles E. Settles and recently by Ambrose Settles.

Survivors include his sister Shirley Ann Zogleman and husband Gene; brother, Robert E. Settles all of Owensboro; numerous nieces and nephews; grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

The service will be 10:00 AM Saturday, June 11 at Blessed Mother Catholic Church with Father Richard Powers conducting the funeral mass. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM with prayers at 6:00 PM and Saturday from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be at Mater Delorosa Cemetery.
