Martine Barnett

Martine "Tootie" Barnett, 89, of the Carmel Home, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at the Carmel Home. She was born August 4, 1919 in Daviess Co. to the late Hillary and Ethel Payne Carrico. She was a lifelong member of Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church and retired from Glenmore Distillary after 38 years. Her favorite pastimes included playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She and H. I. enjoyed preparing Sunday dinner for the family. She was a kind and loving person and will be truly missed. She was also preceded in death by her companion, H. I. Russell, brother J. T. Carrico, sister Thelma "Tillie" Robinson, twin sister Elizabeth "Liddy" Wolfe, sister-in-law Lucille Carrico, and son-in-law Chuck Favors.

Surviving are her three daughters, Ruth Ann (Rex) Huff, Donna Favors, and Pat (Sonny) Hayden, all of Owensboro, six grandchildren, Pam (Mike) Tooley, Sherrie Sowders, Susie (David) Madewell, Jennifer (Phil) Riney, and Matt (Christy) Hayden, all of Owensboro, and Jim Coomes of Reno, Nevado, 14 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 20, at Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church with Father Carl McCarthy officiating. Burial will follow in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Friday with prayers at 6:30 P.M. and after 8:30 A.M. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home.
