Martin H. Keller

Martin Henry Keller died on Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at home. He was born on February 10, 1945 the only child of the late Joseph William "Bill" and Shirley Lanham Keller. Marty was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral parish where he was a Eucharistic Minister and RCIA Sponsor and was active in the Glenmary Guild. He had retired from Premium Allied Tool and Big Rivers Corporation, had worked for Nitram Inc. and Rothenbush Interiors both in Florida, Commonwealth Aluminum and the Creamy where he met his faithful wife of 44 years, Doris. He had attended United Electrics Institute of Louisville, Brescia College and was a graduate of Owensboro High School in 1963.

He was a volunteer fireman with Ruskin Volunteer Fire Department in Florida in the 1970's and co-founded the Junior Firefighters Association, teaching children CPR, first aid and fire safety. He served on the Parish Council for St. Anne's Catholic Church for five years and taught CCD for eight years.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his maternal grandparents, Henry and Frances Trogdon Lanham and his paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Agnes Clark Keller.

Surviving are his wife, Doris Rothenbush Keller, four children; Ken (Linda) Keller of Owensboro, Bill (Carol) Keller of Rockport, IN., Kate (Ryan) Meade of McLean County, and Todd (Carolyn) Keller of Winston, GA., eleven grandchildren; Ben, Danielle and Michael Keller of Owensboro, Haley, Regina, and Matthew Keller of Rockport, IN., Spencer and Andrew Meade of McLean, County, KY., Seth, Joel and Sam Keller of Winston, GA., brothers and sisters in law; Linda and Harold Bennett of Ruskin, FL., Fred and Polly Rothenbush of Ruskin, and Marie Roberts of Owensboro, two aunts: Lucy (Omar Jr.) Harpe of Owensboro, Betty Hawk of Philpot, two uncles; Henry "Shorty" Lanham and Charlie (Kathy) Keller both of Owensboro, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends, and no enemies. His passing into eternity came peacefully and he left behind no unfinished business, knowing the love of his family and friends.

Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m Monday at St. Stephen Cathedral with Fr. John Vaughan officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home with prayers at 5 p.m. and also after 9 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. The family has requested that expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Glenmary Sisters, American Cancer Society, or to Hospice Association Inc. They have respectfully requested no flowers, please.
