Martin Foley Barbour

Martin Foley Barbour, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, of Greenwood, Indiana, recently of Owensboro, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. Born in Owensboro, a son of the late Martin G. and Julia Foley Barbour, he was a graduate of Daviess County High School and attended Western Kentucky University. Foley was involved in commercial real estate and had been on the staff at St. Angela Merici School at Blessed Mother Catholic Church. He had been an instrument rated private pilot and a member of the Ayer Flying Club and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. A member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church Foley had attended Our Lady of Greenwood Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Westerfield Barbour; his children Carey Ann Richmond and her husband Patrick of Ashland and Andrew Preston Barbour and his wife Kara of Owensboro; Trey Watson and his wife Kelly of Owensboro, Missy Bartling and her husband Blake of Franklin, IN, and Ava Beckhart and her husband Rhett of Ft. Knox; 10 grandchildren; and his sister Mary Julia Barbour of Owensboro.

The funeral Mass will be at 12:00 noon Monday at Blessed Mother Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. Sunday and from 9:00 until 11:30 a.m. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where prayers will be said at 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
