Martha W. Towery

Martha W. Towery, 90, of Owensboro passed away Monday June 18, 2018 under the care of Hillcrest Signature Healthcare. Mrs. Towery was born December 5, 1927 in Daviess County to the late Charles and Mary Gilmore Wilkerson. She was the oldest of eleven children and helped raise many of her siblings and Martha also loved family gatherings. She retired from General Electric after 35 years. Martha was a hard worker and when she was not at G.E. she was keeping her house clean and tidy

Mrs. Towery also was preceded in death by her husband, L. C. Towery in 1997; all six brothers, Charles, Gene, Darrell, and Rossie Jr., Fay, and George Wilkerson; sister, Mary Joan Walton and an infant sister at birth.

Those left to cherish her memory include sisters, Wilma Evans and husband, Robert and Sue Peacock; stepson Ronnie Towery all of Owesboro; many nieces and nephews.

Services will be noon Thursday, June 21 at Blessed Mother Catholic Church with Fr. Emmanuel Udoh officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00 till 11:30 am at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
