Martha S. Sympson

Mrs. Martha S. Sympson, 80, of 807 East Glenn Court, Owensboro, died Monday, March 22, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born July 23, 1923, to the late Herman and Eva B. Cowan Strouse, in Union County, KY. She was a member of Pride Baptist Church in Union County, enjoyed traveling and being with her family.

Six brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, James William Sympson, Sr., two sons, James William Sympson, Jr. of Hartford, Johnny R. and (Donna) Sympson of Owensboro; one daughter, Sherrie S. and (William H.) Wemes of Owensboro; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two sister-in-laws and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 6:00 PM Friday, at Glenn Funeral Home, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until 6:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Association, 723 Harvard Drive, Owensboro, KY, or donors choice.
