Martha R. Cummings Ray

Martha R. Cummings Ray, 80, of 5051 Newbolt Road, Owensboro, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2007 at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born in Henderson Co., Ky. to the late Early & Gertrude Overby Cummings. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Smith Mills, Ky. She enjoyed raising a garden, and was an animal lover and regularly fed all the different animals around her house. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Ray on September 26, 2001.

Surviving is a sister, Katherine Powell of Smith Mills, her favorite niece, Sharon Decker of Smith Mills, a nephew, Ronnie J. R. Gaines of Philpot, her special friends, Sue Hasselbrink of Whitesville and Ruth Anderson of Philpot, and several other nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, May 24, at the Benton-Glunt Funeral Home in Henderson with burial following in Fairmount Cemetery there in Henderson. Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro and from 3:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Benton-Glunt in Henderson.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Smith Mills, Ky.
