Martha Harrison Mason

Martha H. Mason,95, passed away peacefully on February 28th in Highlands NC where she had resided for the past eight months. She was born November 14, 1916 in Daviess County to Winnie and Guy Harrison, attended school in Owensboro and began her working career at KenRad. Later she was employed by S.W. Anderson for over 30 years.

As well as being a devoted mother and wife, she was a life time member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church, which was a very important part of her life. She was also a Kentucky Colonel and active in several organizations including the Owensboro Garden Club, the Daviess County Homemakers, and the Quilters Guild. Needlework, quilting and gardening were favorite hobbies. She was a very loving and outgoing person whose sweet personality was apparent to everyone she met.

She was preceded in death by her husband George, her sister and best friend Bobbie Anderson, her parents and her dear daughter-in-law Carole Mason. She is survived by two children George of Whidbey Island, WA and Shelia Crawford (Bill) of Naples, FL and Cashiers NC. Also included are nieces, nephews, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm. A memorial service will be held Friday at 11:00 am at Settle Memorial United Methodist Church. Burial will be private in Rosehill Cemetery.
