Martha K. Main

Martha K. Main, 67, of 1624 Alexander Avenue, Owensboro, died Saturday, March 9, 2002 at her home. She was born in Hancock County, Kentucky on March 14, 2002 the daughter of George and Mayne Bivins Luttrell.

Mrs. Main retired from the Owensboro City School system as a teachers aide and worked at the Executive Inn for 15 years. She was a member of Seven Hills Baptist Church. Mrs. Main enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading, canning, traveling and watching her grandchildren compete in sports.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Ralph E. Main; five sons, Ralph Main, Jr. of Atlanta and Bruce Main, Clint Main, Chris Main and Sam Main, all of Owensboro; two daughters, Sally Pate and Joyce Akers, both of Owensboro; 10 grandchildren; a half brother, Eugene Hayden of Hancock County; and a half sister, Mary Lou Owens of Hancock County.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2002 at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Dr. Bob Coons and Dr. T. A. Prickett. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2002 and after 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
