Martha Ann Clark Hayden, 78, of Owensboro passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born May 2, 1933 in West Louisville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Charles "Ted" and Mary "Till" Mackin Clark; a 1952 graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School; a homemaker, and a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church. Martha was devoted to her family and her faith and was very active in Cursillo and Koinonia. She enjoyed flower gardening, cooking and reading. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Edward Clark, Jim Clark, and Bobby Clark, and a great-grandson, Isaac Whitehouse.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years, William P. Hayden, Jr.; children, Judy (Rick) Long of Noblesville, IN, Pat (Roger) Frederick of Henderson, Ann (David) Blanford of Owensboro, Joe (Lynn) Hayden of Grand Island, NY, Janice (Chris) Hendricks of Owensboro, Rose (Meichele Foster) Hayden of Columbia, MO, Carol (Bob) Lawrence of Hilliard, FL, and Paul Hayden of Avon, IN; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Gene (Nancy) Clark, Mike (Rose Ann) Clark, David (Onee) Clark, and Benny (Paula) Clark all of Daviess County; and sisters, Mary (Bob) Hester and Nancy (Don) Pierce of Owensboro, and Linda (Randy) Tate of Wilmington, DE.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday, August 1, 2011 at Blessed Mother Catholic Church with Father John Meredith officiating followed by entombment in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-7 p.m. on Sunday and after 9 a.m. on Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where the Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. on Sunday.
The family thanks the doctors and staff of OMHS and the doctor and staff of Hospice of Western Kentucky for their kindness and excellent care.
