Martha Lee O'Bryan Froehlich, 73, passed away at home on her father's birthday, August 28, with her family at her side. Born August 14, 1938 in Owensboro, she was the daughter of the late Robert Ignatius Knott and Mary Lois Knott; graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School in the Class of 1956; and was a member of St. Pius Tenth Catholic Church and St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Sorgho. She enjoyed creating beautiful spaces, working in her yard and also helping with class and family reunions. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Lamar O'Bryan, III in January of 1985, and a daughter, Dana Maria O'Bryan in June of 1985.
She is survived by her husband of 13 years, Bill Froehlich, sons: Richard O'Bryan and John (Claudia) O'Bryan of Owensboro and Neil (Shannon) O'Bryan of Lexington; daughters: Pam (Lee) Cox of Murfreesboro, TN and Michelle Eason, Tracy (Tom) Settles, Beth (Bob) Blandford, Cindy (Robert) Zambrano and Carrie O'Bryan all of Owensboro; step-daughters, Rae Ann (J.R.) Chandler, Dawn (John) Poyner of Owensboro; step-sons, Danny (Mary) Froehlich of Henderson and Joey Froehlich of Frankfort; brothers: Robert (Terry) Knott and Bill (Mary Ann) Knott of Sorgho and James (Beverly) Knott of Owensboro; a sister: Nancy Ann (Danny) Mann of Owensboro; 24 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 10 step-grand children and 8 step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church with Father Mark Buckner officiating followed by burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where prayers will be at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
