Martha P. Eubanks

Martha P. Eubanks, 79, of Owensboro, KY passed away peacefully Thursday, August 31, 2017 surrounded by her family and friends. Martha was born October 31, 1937 in Kaiserslautern, Germany to the late Hermann and Hedwig Port. Martha enjoyed planting flowers and her many pets. Martha had a very strong work ethic and worked for over 42 years at Owensboro Daviess County Hospital as a nursing aide. Martha was of the Christian faith and attended church in the Owensboro area.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, James Thursby Eubanks. James literally swept Martha off her feet during his service in the military. Martha is also preceded in death by 1 of her sisters, Liesel Cloys.

Martha is survived by her son, Ernest L. Eubanks (Judy) of Philpot; 2 granddaughters, Jennifer Wilson (Ryan Scott) and Amber Preston (Craig) both of Owensboro; 3 great grandchildren, Lake Wilson, Hunter Greathouse, and Delaney Preston; 1 sister, Maria Hackley of Colonial Heights, VA.

Services will be at 5PM Sunday, September 3 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 2PM until 5PM on Sunday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy can take the form of donations to the Wendell Foster Center, 815 Triplett St., Owensboro, KY 42303.
