Martha Mae Estes

Martha Estes, 89, of Louisville, formerly of 202 Riverside Dr., Owensboro, passed away on Monday January 18, 2010 at the Episcopal Church Home in Louisville. She was born on August 1, 1920 in Hancock Co., Ky. to the late Frank and Sadie Fuchs Meserve. She was a member of Third Baptist Church and retired in 1986 after 28 years as a lunchroom matron at Thruston Elementary School. She enjoyed cooking, working in her yard, watching U. K. basketball, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, A. D. Estes on October 19, 1991, a brother, Sam Meserve, and two sisters, Louise Robertson and Barbara Keown.

Surviving are her two sons, Gary M. Estes and wife Beverly of Owensboro and Bob Estes and wife Carolyn of Louisville, seven grandchildren, Scott Estes of Titusville, FL, Chris Estes of Lexington, Kelli Van Zant of Crestwood, Jonathon Estes and Thomas Estes, both of Bowling Green, Jason Estes of Newburgh, IN, and Natalie Estes of Louisville, 14 great grandchildren, and a brother, Franklin Meserve of Hawesville.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 21, in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Entombment will follow in the Owensboro Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 8:30 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
