Marsha Lee Bivens, 62, of Owensboro, died Saturday, November 29 at Fern Terra. She was born in Daviess County to the late Loyd and Jean Farmer Bivens and also lived in Leitchfield for 36 years.
She was a graduate of Daviess County High and a 1974 graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College.
Ms. Bivens was a teacher at Caneyville Elementary School in Grayson County for thirty-six years and taught for four years at Cloverport Elementary School. She had attended Mt. Zion Methodist Church.
Marsha enjoyed cats, reading, Star Trek, and soap operas, but most of all she loved her family and had a passion for children.
She is survived by sisters, Debbie Alvey (Gary) of Calhoun and Sherry Clouse (Steve) of Panther; brothers, Larry Bivens (Pam) of Philpot and David Bivens (Theresa) of Lewisport; nieces and nephews, Chris Bivens (Sarah), Crystal Bivens (Wayne Jenkins), Brandy Johnson (David), Jason Alvey (Rhonda), Aaron Alvey (Tiffany), Nick Clouse (Nikki Bellamy), Stacy Whitworth (Ron), Amber Hancock (Josh), Robin Chappell (Ross), Summer Bivens; and several great nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at 12 Noon Saturday December 6, 2014 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Methodist Cemetery in Panther. Visitation will be 4-8 Friday and after 9 AM on Saturday at the funeral home.
