Mark A. Thompson

Mark A. Thompson, 54, a resident of Owensboro Center, passed away Oct. 3, 2016, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in Owensboro, the only child, to the late Richard and Mariette Thompson. Mark was a very special guy who came into this world with an extra smile, extra laughs and one extra chromosome. He was a gift to those around him and he loved to listen to music, sing and dance. Mark was very loving and affectionate, and handed out hugs to whomever he thought might need one. He was kind, loving, and could melt your heart with one look. Mark lived at Owensboro Center, they were his family, he would even sit behind the desk and pretend he worked there. He was in turn cherished by the staff and other residents. Mark will forever be in their hearts. "Your presence we miss, your memories we treasure, love you always, forgetting you never."

Survivors include the staff and residents of Owensboro Center.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Resurrection Cemetery.
