Mark David Roberts, 53, of 8235 Sugar Grove Church Rd., Utica (Masonville) passed away on July 1, 2006 at Rough River Lake after being involved in a boating accident. He was born in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late Wallace & Frances Tooley Roberts. He was a member of Sts. Joseph & Paul Catholic Church and was employed with Indiana Hardwoods for 26 years as a lumber buyer. He had coached girls softball, boys baseball & basketball, had sung in the Blessed Mother & Sts. Joseph & Paul Catholic Church choirs, and with the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra. He loved boating, fishing, being outdoors, and spending a lot of time with his children & grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Noah Blair in 2004.
Surviving is his wife, Cathy Lashbrook Roberts who he would have been married to for 32 years on July 13th, his daughter and her husband, Laura Renee & Jude Blair of Whitesville, two sons, Joshua Alan Roberts of Owensboro and his close friend, Jessica Carter, and Matthew David Roberts of Utica and his close friend, Sarah Midkiff, three grandchildren, Nathaniel David Roberts, Nicholas Blair, and Elijah Blair, two sisters, Julia Ann Houston and Celia Ellen Roach, both of Owensboro, and two brothers, Joseph Anthony Roberts, Sr. of Owensboro and Warren Francis Roberts of Missouri.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 10, at Sts. Joseph & Paul Catholic Church with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday and after 8:30 A.M. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be at 7:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mark had always said that he would like everyone that attends his funeral to wear bright colors. Cathy would like everyone to do this if they would like.
