Mark Edward Payne

Mark Edward Payne, 44, of Lexington passed away Friday, October 9, 2009 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington after a lengthy illness. Born December 4, 1964 in Owensboro, Mr. Payne worked at Preston Osborne Research in Lexington; was a 1982 graduate of Daviess County High School; a 1984 graduate of Daviess County Vocational School; and also graduated from Lexington Community College. He was a generous, thoughtful person who would do anything for anyone. He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Payne, on July 23, 1976.

Mr. Payne is survived by his mother, Nancy Stewart Payne of Owensboro; a brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Sandy Payne of Hardinsburg; a sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Rev. Bob Jolly of Cumming, GA; three nephews; a niece; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Services are 2 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2009 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory followed by burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Western Kentucky.
