Mark E. Fikes

Mark E. Fikes, 76, of Owensboro, passed away on January 1, 2012. He was born in Syracuse, New York to the late Paul and Isabella (Ellison) Fikes.

Mark was a veteran of the United States Navy.

He retired from G.E. in 1990 after 34 years of service as an engineer and foreman.

Mark was a member of ISTOPS and the Hadi Shriners. He enjoyed building model airplanes, old movies and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Mark in 1982; four sisters and one brother.

Mark is survived by his wife of 31 years, Mary Fikes; daughter, Margaret Farrell (Patrick) of Syracuse, NY; son, Ricky Payne (Judy) of Owensboro; Grandchildren, Meghan, Kevin and Maura Farrell of Syracuse, NY, Rita Howard (Lorin), Joni Seaton (Jacob), David Payne and Erin Payne; great grandchildren, Seth and Lilly Howard, Gracelynn Seaton, Nolan and Aiden Payne all of Owensboro and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 3 from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. The funeral service will be private.
