Mark Bennett

Mark "Markie" Bennett, 41, of Owensboro, passed away August 1, 2012 at his home. He was born to Jackie and Rita Bennett on October 20, 1970 in Owensboro, KY. Mark was a kind soul who took the time to take care of the people and animals around him. He lived with his feline companion "Mr. Bennett" and also took care of the neighborhood animals as well. He always said that he would go hungry before the cats would. Mark loved to write, read poetry, and travel. He once drove all the way to Fairbanks, Alaska.

Mark is preceded in death by his grandparents Elba and Virginia Bennett of Lewisport.

Survivors include his parents Rita and Jackie Bennett, his sister Jacqueline Mubarak (Khalid) of Kuwait City; his brothers Michael Bennett (Connie) of Evansville and David Bennett (Marie) of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Owensboro Humane Society.
