Mark A. Adkins, 54, of Fordsville died Friday, February 6, 2015 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born July 29, 1960 in Tell City, IN.
Mark graduated from Hancock Co. High School and worked for many years in computer controls at Domtar. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a good cook and an excellent craftsman who loved building things for his grandchildren. Most of all, Mark enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an awesome Papaw to them.
Survivors include his wife Karen (Haynes) Adkins; children, Marcus Adkins (fianc Alberta) of Hawesville, Joe Adkins (Megan) of Fordsville, Amanda Adkins of Hawesville, Chris Haynes (fianc Melissa) of Lexington, KY, Mallari Daugherty (Drew) of Owensboro; grandchildren, Lilyen and Aleya Hedinger, Jonah Stallings, Joseph Adkins; parents, Ray and Ella Mae (Banks) Adkins of Lewisport; brothers, Billy Adkins of Tell City, Neal Adkins of Owensboro; sisters, Kathy Adkins of Hawesville and Aimee Frank (Richard) of Reo, IN; several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.
The funeral mass will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 9, 2015 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Burial will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 until 6 pm (with prayers at 5) and after 12 pm Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
