Marjorie Miles Sloan

Marjorie "Margie" Miles Sloan, of Owensboro, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 27, 2009. She was born to the late Ross Lee Miles and Mary Elizabeth Strehl Miles. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.

Her enjoyment included watching sports, decorating, reading, flowers and spending time with her family and friends. She always said her greatest gift in life were her three children.

She was preceded in death by three brothers: John Lee "J.L." Miles, Doug Miles and Ross Lee "Junior" Miles and a sister; Mary Helen Thrasher.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years; Wendell "Doug" Sloan, three children; Kimberly Gaw Estes (Jim), Patricia "Tricia" Hamilton (Kenny) and Wendell Sloan Jr. (Melissa), all of Owensboro, six grandchildren; Nathan and Natasha Gaw, Kevin and Ashley Hamilton, Logan and Jordan Sloan, a sister; Wanda Anacito (Ron) and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at St. Pius X Catholic Church with Fr. Richard Meredith officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m. with prayers at 7:00 p.m. and 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
