Marjorie H. Lambert

Marjorie Hedges Lambert, 86, of Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at her home. She was born on July 15, 1924 in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late Joseph L. and Mamie Shocklee Hedges. She was a member of Walnut Memorial Baptist Church and was retired from the Daviess Co. School System where she worked in the lunchroom at Philpot Elementary for many years. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the loves of her life. She also loved quilting, raising a garden and canning. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Hubert Lambert on January 1, 1982, and her brothers and sisters, Howard and Joseph Lee Hedges and Irene Alexander and Anna Maglinger.

Surviving are two sons, Ronnie Lambert and Mike Lambert, both of Pleasant Ridge, four daughters, Valerie Head and husband Pat of Philpot, Dosella Canepari and husband Steve of Prattville, AL, Darlene Johnson and husband Jerry and Laquita Abell and husband Glenn , all of Owensboro, 14 grandchildren, James (Alicia) Lambert, Amy (Keith) Bowen, Karen (Jason) Clark, Tabatha (Danny) Roberts, Michael (Nicole) Mattingly, Laura McBride, Megan Abell, Amber Abell, Shane (Amy) Lambert, Lee (Janie Tichenor) Lambert, Michelle (Chris) Love, Jeffrey (Audrey) Clark, Angie Clark, and Jerry Wayne Johnson, and 20 great grandchildren.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 20, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 8:30 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
