Marion Nicholas "Nick" Woodard

Marion Nicholas “Nick” Woodard, 73, of Utica passed away Sunday, October 20, 2024, under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of W. Kentucky. The Henderson native was born November 2, 1950, to the late Carvil Marion Woodard and Pauline Elizabeth Kritzer Woodard. Nick graduated from Henderson High School, class of 1968. He immediately enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp. serving four years before reenlistment and being stationed as a Recruiter in California. This provided many opportunities for Nick to work with Toys for Tots, present the colors at a Rams football game, be a participant on Hollywood Squares, and meet several celebrities. He also met and married his wife resulting in the adoption of their daughter. After being honorably discharged, Nick began his own drywall business. After over thirty years, Nick and his mother returned to Kentucky where he lived the remainder of his days. When he had time, Nick enjoyed playing golf. He was a friendly man and the kind of person that could talk with anyone and make everyone feel comfortable. 

 In addition to his parents, Nick also was preceded in death by sister, Joyce Wright in 2023. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Sarah Gosnell (Martin) of Phelan, California; two siblings, Bill Woodard (Charlotte) of Chester, Virginia and Linda Cravens (John) of Owensboro; brother-in-law, Paul Wright who was a neighbor and good friend; several nieces and nephews. 

 Arrangements for Nick Woodard are private. Care by Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery in the military section.
