Marion A. "Jim" Fuqua, 97, of Owensboro, went to be with the Lord on May 12, 2014. He was born in Whitesville, Kentucky on December 30, 1916 to the late John and Clara Knott Fuqua. Jim drove a bus for the family business Fuqua Bus Lines and later drove for Greyhound. He also worked for SureGas and Matlock as a truck driver. He loved to make people laugh. Jim was a member of Owensboro Saddle Horse Association and was of the Catholic faith.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his grandsons Billy McLimore and Marty McLimore, great-grandson; Travis McLimore; and 8 siblings.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years Marjorie Thompson Fuqua; son; John Fuqua (Julie) of Springfield, TN, daughters; Betty McLimore (Charlie Bellew), and Sheree Fuqua (Matthew Williams) of Powderly; granddaughters, Janet Feldpausch (Steve), and Amelia Rose Fuqua of Springfield, TN; grandsons; Dave McLimore (Angie), and Jim McLimore (Carol) of Shepardsville, Kentucky; great-grandchildren, Bethany McLimore, Nathan McLimore, Phillip McLimore, Clint McLimore, Travis McLimore, Lexie Feldpausch Pagan (Neal) , Breanna Feldpausch; 1 sister and 11 Great-great grandchildren.
Services will be at 2p.m. on Friday in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 10a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at St. Mary of the Woods Cemetery in Whitesville, Kentucky.
