Marion Sue Bell Basham

Marion Sue (Susie) Bell Basham, age 64, of Owensboro passed away at her home on Sunday, January 27, 2013. Born December 8, 1948 in Owensboro, she was the daughter of Thomas Bell and the late Margie Pate Bell; worked for more than 27 years as a phlebotomist; and was a member of Hall Street Baptist Church and previously at Owensboro Christian Church. She was always very active in church activities serving as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was a person with a sweet spirit that was deep rooted in her faith in her best friend, Jesus. Mrs. Basham was a strong, kind hearted person, who always could find humor and good in any trial. She loved telling stories and could always tie them to scripture. Devoted to her family, she cared for her grandchildren after leaving the health care field. She enjoyed collecting pigs and Noah's arks and loved her cat, Wheeler, whom she rescued, and her dog, Rosie. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Basham was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Robert L Basham in 2012.

Surviving are her children, Rob (Jennie) Basham of Owensboro and Louis (Vicki) Richardson of La Grange KY; grandchildren, Maurah Basham, Traton Basham, Tanner Basham, Zolan Richardson, Kylan Richardson, and Lilli Richardson; her father and step-mother, Thomas and Marguerite Bell of Owensboro; step-daughters, Kim (Rodney) Revlett of Calhoun and Tina Taylor of Evansville; a sister, Carol Wright of Owensboro; a brother, Al (Lisa) Bell of Murfreesboro, TN; and a special aunt, Georgia Howell of Owensboro.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2013 in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Bob Melton officiating followed by burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
