Marilyn Henderson Wells

Marilyn Henderson Wells, 57, of Owensboro, Kentucky lost her battle with breast cancer and passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 surrounded by her family. Marilyn was born on September 10, 1954, to Bill and Ilene Henderson of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, graduated from Hopkinsville High School and attended both Western Kentucky University and the University of Kentucky. She was employed by Russ Wilkey, Attorney, and Counseling Associates, Inc. but enjoyed most being a homemaker and mother to her daughter Mary Katherine. Marilyn was preceded in death by her father, Bill Henderson in 1984.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Michael Wells, their daughter, Mary Katherine Wells Rusher and husband Dr. Philip Rusher of Lexington; her mother Ilene Henderson of Hopkinsville, in-laws Mr. and Mrs. Newell Wells of Hopkinsville, sister in law Kathy Ann Fox and husband Mark Fox of Philadelphia, PA, aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Gale Williamson of Hopkinsville, aunt, Mrs. Katherine Gray of Louisville; several cousins and many close friends.

Services will be 10 a.m. on Friday, May 4, 2012 in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday and after 9 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Humane Society in memory of Marilyn's favorite pet, a rescued border collie named Shadow or to the American Cancer Society.
