Marilyn Clark Holder

Marilyn Clark Holder, 77, of Owensboro, died Sunday, June28, 2009 at her home. She was born in Iowa to the late Gilmore and Martine (Merrimee) Clark. She attended Brescia College and retired as a U.S. judicial court clerk, and was a member of Immaculate Catholic Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, walking, and playing tennis, and was a member of Junior League of Owensboro, the Lunch Bunch, and Bridge Club.

Two grandchildren; Ashley and Allison Holder preceded her in death, and three brothers; Dick, Wilfred, and Bob Clark.


Surviving are her children; Stephen Holder of Owensboro, David (Kathy) Holder of Newburgh, IN., Stephanie (Jim) Orton of Franklin, TN., and Holly (Jeff) Rouse of Owensboro, grandchildren; Christopher Orton, Alex and Anna Holder, Andrew, Matthew, Addison, Kailee and Kaleb Rouse, and three brothers; Paul Clark, George (Marie) Clark, and Wayne (Dorothy) Clark, all of Owensboro.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Catholic Church with Fr. Tony Jones officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 3 to 8 p.m. with prayers at 7:30 p.m., and after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

The family wishes to express deep appreciation to her caregivers and Hospice that allowed her to remain in her home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice Association Inc., the Susan G. Komen Foundation, or to Immaculate Catholic Church.
