Marie Whitfield Walters, 91, of Owensboro passed away Friday, November 18, 2005 at Hillcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Hopkins County on October 25, 1914, Mrs. Walters was owner/operator of the Walters Shoe Mart with her late husband, Lawrence W. Walters and was a member of Third Baptist Church. She was a member of the Owensboro Country Club, and loved playing golf.
She is survived by sons, Mike and his wife Judy Walters of Prospect, KY and Larry and his wife Dalia Walters of Mexico; daughter, Ann Marie and her husband Kenneth Hall of Land of Lakes, FL; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Wes Walters of Madisonville.
Services are 10 A.M. Monday, November 21, 2005 at Christ Chapel, Owensboro Memorial Gardens officiated by Dr. James Byrd with entombment following. Visitation will be 2-6 P.M. Sunday, November 20, 2005, and after 9 a.m. Monday, at Glenn Funeral Home.
