Marie Ann Monarch Tooley, 78, of Owensboro, went to be with the Lord, to whom she eagerly confessed as her Savior, February 9, 2016 at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville, IN. She was born October 8, 1937 in Daviess County to the late James Lamar and Mary Ann Payne Monarch. In her early years, Marie worked at the Cigar Factory then Burns Middle School before moving on to become a very familiar face at Moonlite Bar-B-Q. She was an active member of Owensboro Cumberland Presbyterian Church and of the church's Women's group, CPW. Marie loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. A lover of music, history and the arts, Marie often enjoyed traveling, reading and watching documentaries. She is preceded in death by her former husband, David B. Tooley Jr.; daughter, Susan McMain; sister, Julie Brandle, and brother, Tony Monarch.
Marie is survived by her daughters, Debbie Thompson of Owensboro and Connie Perry and her husband Chuck, of Chandler, IN; sons, Michael Tooley and his wife Sandy of Owensboro, Phillip Tooley and his wife, Becky of Roseville, CA., Rev. Mark Tooley and his wife Katherine of Conway, AR,; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Clark and her husband, Bobby, Susie Bosley, Margaret Riney and her husband, Frank, Theresa Crawford and her husband, Jim; and brothers, Bill Monarch and Tommy Monarch and his wife, Wanda.
A Memorial Service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Owensboro Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tim McGuire officiating. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
