Marie E. Heim, 91, of Owensboro, died Friday, December 9, 2011 at Medco Nursing Care of Henderson. Marie was born in Philadelphia, PA. to the late Louis A. and Wilhelmina (Webber) Beard. She worked in Philadelphia during WWII in an airplane factory at the same time her husband was a pilot. She later moved to Owensboro and she was a department head of men's furnishings for Anderson's Department Store for over 25 years. She was a member of Wesleyan Heights United Methodist Church. Her husband, Frederick M. Heim and two brothers, Nelson and Russell Beard also preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Karen Heim-Baugh of Evansville, IN., and Janice (Louie) Pulliam of Owensboro, grandchildren, Jay (Kelly) Parker of Louisville, KY., Jill (Justin) Ball of Lexington, Ky., and Robbin Baugh of Evansville, IN., step-grandchildren, Scott (Carrie) Pulliam, Todd (Terri) Pulliam, and Jeff (Dena) Pulliam, all of Owensboro, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Dr. Timo Karvonen officiating. Visitation will be after 12:00 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Wesleyan Heights United Methodist Church or to St. Anthony Hospice in Henderson.
