Marie Margaret Fischer Clark, 86, a lifelong resident of Owensboro, passed away October 19, 2009 at her home, with her husband by her side. She was born September 14, 1923, to the late Martin O. and Sadie Collignon Fischer. She was a homemaker. She served as the Democratic Representative for the Daviess County Election Board for 32 years, was active in many political campaigns throughout the years, and was an Honorary Kentucky Colonel. She was a charter member of the Immaculate Catholic Church, where she attended Mass for many years, was active in the Legion of Mary, RCIA, the Alter Society, and the choir.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, George T. Clark; two sons, Tom "Barge" Clark (Lynn), of Dexter, MI, and Mark Clark (Fonda) of Collierville, TN; two daughters, Christy Aull (Steve), and Kathy "Kass" Bohannon Ashby, both of Owensboro; nine grandchildren, Matt Clark (Mary), Jennie Clark, Rachel Aull, Jessie Bohannon, Chris Bohannon, Kasey Bohannon Sharpe (Michael), Steffan Clark, Karly Clark, and Christian Clark; 4 great-grandchildren, Kayla Clark, Kyle Clark, Bennett Bohannon and Elliott Sharpe; a sister, Aline Garrett; a brother, Max Fischer both of Owensboro; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Immaculate Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday and after 8:30 a.m. on Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Prayers will be said at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice Association of Western Kentucky.
