Marianne Waddell Stateler

Marianne Waddell Stateler, 84, of Owensboro, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born in Rockport, Indiana to the late Raymond and Mabel Tharp Waddell.

Marianne retired from the Women's Pavillion after 46 years of service as a registered nurse. She attended Owensboro Christian Church and in recent years, enjoyed being a part of the Wednesday luncheon Bible study at First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Stateler was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Bobby J. Stateler in 1995; a son-in-law, Terry Prater; a brother, Roy Waddell; infant twin siblings, Ray and Kay Waddell; and sister-in-law, Kay Waddell.

She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Stateler and her fiance, Dr. Alan Mullins of Owensboro, sons, Marc Stateler and his wife Gina of St. Libory, IL and Todd Stateler and his wife Debbie of Virginia Beach, VA; a brother, Ronnie Waddell and his wife Joyce of Lynchburg, VA; grandchildren, Megan and Paige Stateler, Randall Stateler and his wife Jenny, Ryan Stateler, Brandon Stateler and his wife Kristen, Matthew Prater and his wife Keiliah, Aaron Prater and his wife Abbie and Jay Vincent; great-grandchildren, Landon and Sophie Stateler, Allie, Audrey, and Lyla Prater; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be 2 PM Sunday, October 29 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Dr. Paul Strahan will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday from 2 until 6 PM and Sunday after 1 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
