Marian Sue "Susan" Hawes

Marian Sue “Susan” Hawes, 81, of Owensboro, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023, at Wellington Parc. She was born on December 17, 1942, to the late William Adam Hawes and Mary Catherine Clary. Susan was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She retired after many years from the Federal Aviation Administration and loved cooking, the arts, music, and animals.

In addition to her parents, Susan is preceded in death by her brother, William “Bill” Hawes; and her best friend, Elizabeth “Betty” Calkins.

Those left to cherish her memory include her niece, Jill Sailors (Ben); nephew, Bryan Hawes; and sister-in-law, Debbie Hawes; also, a great niece, nephews, and many cousins and friends.

The memorial service for Susan will be 10 AM January 6, at First Presbyterian Church.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Owensboro Humane Society, 3101 West Second Street, Owensboro, KY 42301.
