Mariam H. Sparks

Mariam Sparks, 79, of 1321 Rosehill Dr., Owensboro, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2008 at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born in Chicago, Ill. to the late Hollis and Ann Smith Mather. She was a homemaker and enjoyed collecting dolls, sewing, painting, making crafts, cooking, and reading her Bible. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph William Sparks on Sept. 28, 2003.

Surviving are her daughters, Linda Harl of Owensboro and Donna Payne of Garner, N. C., sons, John Sparks and wife Lynn of Cincinnati, Oh., Michael Sparks and wife Li of Burlington, Ky., and Richard Sparks and wife Tammy of Owensboro, a sister, Helen Wynn of Ann Arbor, Mich., seven grandchildren, Jason and Justin Howard, Ethan Harl, Brandon Payne, Hannah Sparks, Zach Sparks, and Shelby Sparks, and a great grandchild, Chloe Payne.

Services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 27, at the graveside in Rosehill Cemetery. Burial will follow. Visitation will be after 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home.
