Mariam Fay Logsdon Coomes

Mariam Fay Logsdon Coomes, 82, (formerly of Habit) passed away Friday, June 25, 2010 at her daughter's home in Hermitage, TN. Born on December 15, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Laura Blount Knight; was a homemaker; and was a member of Bethabara Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Hiram Logsdon in 1979, a daughter, Sandy Hidenrite, and brothers, Billy Knight and Gerald Knight.

Surviving are her husband, Paul Coomes of Evansville, IN; daughters, Marie (Steve) James of Hermitage, TN, Laura Fay (T.R.) Cantrell of South Pittsburgh, TN, and Sherri Gayle Cheatham of Virginia; a son, Thomas (Crystal) Logsdon of Owensboro; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold Knight of Texas; and sisters, Gladys Morris of Habit, Pauline Fontain of Ft. Meyers, FL, and Jean Enbry of Jeffersonville, IN; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 28, 2010 at Bethabara Cemetery in Habit with Dr. Herschel Morgan officiating. Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory is handling arrangements.
