Maria Taylor

Maria Taylor, 81, of Owensboro passed away Friday, July 8, 2016. Mrs. Taylor was born August 21, 1934 in Mainz Kostheim, Germany to the late Adam and Maria Franziska May. Maria lived an extraordinary life. She was a survivor of WWII, bride to an American soldier, a tireless worker and fierce matriarch to several generations who always did more with so much less. Fondly remembered as the giver of "a bushel and a peck with a hug around the neck", ham sandwiches and anything else she had. Maria was the "keeper of the potato bin" and the life of the party. Her accent would capture your attention and her unique personality would keep it. If you ever met Maria, your life was better for it. Her legacy is one of determination, counting of blessings, and loving care of family and friends. Her memory will be cherished as mom, grandma, Oma or Omi.

Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her daughter, Paula Higdon.

Survivors include her sons, Michael and Rodney Taylor; daughter, Roxann Adkins all of Owensboro; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren;
