Marguerite Louise Schauberger

October 26, 1930 — January 25, 2014

Marguerite Louise Schauberger, known to friends and family as Marge, died peacefully at home on January 25, 2014 at the age of 83. Her dear mother, Henry Etta Schauberger, and sister, Jo Ann Schauberger, preceded her in death. Her cousins, Clark and Judy Taylor, of Chattanooga, TN and Ruth Ann and Gailor Justice, of Houston, TX and their children and families survive her.

Marge was born in Evansville, IN to Henry Etta Rode Schauberger and Ernst C Schauberger but lived most of her life in Owensboro.

A graduate of Owensboro High School, she attended Bowling Green College of Commerce. As a young woman she worked for the local Girl Scout Council and then was employed for 42 years at Texas Gas where she retired as manager of personnel administration. She was a loyal member of Buena Vista Baptist church, where she served many faithful years as a choir member, as well as music librarian and Sunday School secretary. She also volunteered in their transportation ministry, providing a valued service of driving people to doctor appointments, as well as to Bible study at the Baptist Center.

Marge has long served on the board of directors of the Opportunity Center of ARC, first as treasurer and then as secretary. In 1959 she was designated a Kentucky Colonel for her volunteer service to the organization which had continued until her death. Until her recent illness, she continued going by the Center weekly to sign checks after having lunch at J.D.'s Restaurant. She also had especially enjoyed her volunteer work for the Center at their fundraising bingo nights.

Marge had life-long interests in music, reading, bridge, and puzzles. She traveled extensively with her mother and sister throughout the United States and in Europe.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made in Marge's name to your favorite charity.

The family wishes to thank her many friends and care-givers for their love to Marge, as well as the folks who served her kindly, especially at Hardee's and J.D.'s.
