The family of Marguerite “Marge” (Profilet) Harper would like to share the news of the passing of their beloved mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, and aunt on Monday, December 8, 2025. Born in southern Illinois on February 18, 1938, to the late Curtis and Marguerite Profilet. Marge's youth was spent in her small hometown where she met her one and only love of her life husband, William R (Bill) Harper. They were married for 67 years until Bill's death in 2021. They have five children - Deb (Dave) Daigle of Katy, TX, Julie (Greg) Osetinsky of Lexington, KY, Colin (Toni) Harper, Bryan (Carlin)Harper and Greg (Lisa) Harper all of Houston, TX.
Marge has been blessed with 15 Grandchildren - Lauren Daigle (Oscar) Hernandez, Zach (Felicia) Daigle, Spencer (Jessi) Daigle, Pierce (Erica) Daigle, Paul (Lucy) Osetinsky, Mariel Osetinsky (Chris) Frisch, Peytra Osetinsky (Patrick) Gettings, Natalie Harper (Ricky) Ealand, Ben (Jamie) Harper, Macy Pestello (Austin) Stock, Rayne Pestello, Will Harper, Logan Harper, Kelsey Harper (lan) Thompson, and Colby Harper. These 15 grandchildren have given Marge 27 • great grandchildren with two more on the way!
Marge loved her large family - ten sisters and three brothers - and their spouses- Mary Ann and Bill Eblen, Barbara Newberry, Pat and John Sullivan, Jan and Dave Burkstaller, Robert "Bob" Profilet, Martha Ellen and Charles Lankheit, Kay and Ted Wild, Sara and Pat Lancaster, John Profilet, Jim and Debbie Profilet, Ginny and Todd Ponting and Emilie and Kris Martin and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
Throughout her life, Marge enjoyed sewing, bridge, golf, shopping, cheering on her grandchildren's' activities and UK Wildcat Basketball. Marge may be best known for her gift of gab and marathon phone visits with friends and family across the country.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 am on Saturday, December 13, at St Stephen Cathedral. Visitation will be Friday, December 12, from 4 PM until 6 PM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, with prayers taking place at 5:30, and Saturday, December 13, from 9 AM until the time of service at the church. Marge's final resting place will be by Bill's side at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
