Marguerite Lacey Griffin

March 15, 1920 — October 26, 2005

Marguerite Lacey McNeal Griffin, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2005, at her home. Born in Bluefield, WV on March 15, 1920 to the late William Wallace and Blanche Wornell McNeal, Mrs. Griffin attended Sullins College and the University of Kentucky where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. A devoted member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church and a Trustee Emerita of Kentucky Wesleyan College, Mrs. Griffin was also an advocate of the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra, Western Kentucky Botanical Garden, Brescia College, Foundation for Health and Owensboro-Daviess County Humane Society. Her beloved husband of 47 years, William Sloan Griffin, preceded her in death in 1988.

Survivors include her two daughters, Rebecca Kay Griffin and Anne Lacey Sheriff, of Owensboro, and her grandson, Brandon Sloan Sheriff, of Lexington.

Funeral services are at 12:00 p.m. Friday, October 28, at Settle Memorial United Methodist Church, where visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. on Friday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions the charity of ones choice.
